Florida Trail (FT)

Florida Trail with this well marked route of orange paint and signs

The Florida National Scenic Trail, better known as the Florida Trail, is a federally-designated, non-motorized recreation trail that meanders approximately 1,500 miles across some of the most beautiful, unique landscapes in the entire country.

The Florida Trail Association already has a spreadsheet of Trail Angels and helped several associated trail chapter websites and groups to help you navigate the trail and find other resources like trail angels. The FTA Trail Angel Spreadsheet is shown below. We are working with the FTA to determine the best set of steps for a hiker to try and find a trail angel in a particular location. A good start might be:

(1) FTA Trail Angel List

(2) Florida Trail Trail Angel Facebook group

(3) FT Thru hike websites (see below)

(4) Individual trail chapters and their Facebook or other website resources. (see links below)

Trail Angel Central Lists

Starting in January 2024, we developed the first of FT Trail Angel Lists for the trail. We decided to organize list of trail angels by Florida Trail Association “Chapters” as a start. There is already a wealth of organization and support that is organized these official FTA groups. Each group often has a website, facebook group, meetup group and Instagram. Each of those social media resources could have references to trail angels or options for hikers to request assistance from those associated with those groups.

To find the local chapter resources, please use the FTA chapter finding resource page at:
