Mobile Trail Angeling from living in vehicles
With so many folks being mobile and living out of RVs and vans or other vehicles, the options for folks to camp and offer services at trail crossings is now more likely than in previous years.

The Mobile Angel also has the flexibility to drive to the area that needs services at a particular time. As North bound groups move from CA to OR to WA or same for southbound, the mobile angel could follow the bubbles and groups and be extremely timely and effective.

The mobile angel could also be coordinated with existing, fixed location based angels that provide hosting or rides. These fixed location angels could contact the mobile angels and suggest that they need help and when! Mobile angels could list their information of trips and general locations so this connection of the two angel types can connect.

Hybrid Mobile Angel and Fixed Location Trail Angel

There are many Trail Angels that live fairly close to the PCT or other trails and get incredibly busy during certain peak times during the hiking season. To help relieve some of the trail angles work, the fixed location angles could offer hosting or camping for the mobile angels.

The mobile trail angels could move up or down the trail as the needs change.

Services a mobile trail angel can provide

Transportation – Certainly the most valuable service that an angel with a vehicle can offer is rides to and from the trail.

Food and water – Having some food and water available for hikers for immediate use.

Internet – It should be possible for a mobile angel to set up a Satellite based internet wi-fi hot spot for hikers at trail crossings that do have service available. There might be places where Sprint might be available but no verizon or AT&T so getting a sprint based service phone and offering a wi-fi hot spot.

Equipment repairs – Having some equipment to do tent and other equipment repairs could be helpful

Postal services – If Trail angels are informed of the shipping prices and options for bear canisters or other boxes, they can take take them from hikers and do postal services for them or pick up packages from other postal places ahead of time for trail delivery if properly coordinated.
